BATH THE PAIN AWAY

In the hall of the Limmathof a world premiere is celebrated: Bath the Pain Away (2021, 45 min.) plays with different film genres, moving between silent film, feature movie, animation and artistic video. The work follows a female judge in the year 2029 who retreats into a bathtub on wheels and lives her life from there. «Vom Baden lernen» takes place in cooperation with Fantoche.

Fantoche the International Animation Film Festival is Switzerland's most important festival for animated film and one of the world's most prominent animation film events. It takes place every year during the first week of September and appeals to professionals and film buffs alike. Every year, Fantoche tracks down around 300 animated shorts and feature films from all over the world to bring them to the screen in Baden. An extensive supporting programme in line with the animation leitmotif accompanies the film-watching experience.

International artists are invited to engage intensively with the bathing tradition in the context of social and urban transformation in order to realize site-specific works. These so-called treatments will be presented at different locations in the city.
